Individual, Couple, and Family Psychotherapy

How can psychotherapy help?
We all feel stuck in our lives at certain points in time. It is just these crisis points that can lead to the most growth. Psychotherapy can help by teaching us new ways of seeing ourselves. In a safe and supportive environment, the clients I collaborate with can learn to:

  • Develop a clearer sense of self
  • Identify their own feelings and behaviors
  • Improve their communications skills
  • Feel more in control of life and relationships

Who do you see for therapy?
I see couples, individuals, and families in my practice. Most people consult with me when they are feeling depressed, anxious, or stuck in their relationships. Additional focus areas include parenting, postpartum depression, and special needs.

Some of the many issues that I have addressed with clients in therapy:

Individuals: Stress, depression, post-partum depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work or school issues, conflict with family, illness, anger, grief, loneliness, difficulty making decisions.

Families: Parenting issues, communication problems, conflict in the family, anxiety, illness, concerns about a child's development, school issues, special needs, sadness, behavior problems, sibling rivalry, bullying, divorce.

How do I make an appointment?
It may feel hard or even a bit scary to contact someone to start therapy. I see it as a brave move that signifies a certain level of energy that is conducive to change. With your initial contact by phone (202-215-2790) or email . I will arrange a time for us to talk about what is happening and how I might be able to help you. Once we have spoken and if it seems that I may be a good fit for what you need, we will make an appointment to meet.

Where is your office?
My office is located across the street from the Tenleytown (red line) metro stop.

Office Hours
Convenient Saturday hours are available in addition to weekday appointment times.
