Jennifer PhotoAs a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (DC), I have undergone rigorous training and ongoing supervision to develop and hone my skills as a therapist. I have more than fifteen years of clinical experience working with individuals and families in the DC area. I am married and the parent of two school-aged children. I love to read, explore, and have fun with family and friends.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in creative writing and journalism from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. My Master of Social Work degree was earned at the National Catholic School of Social Service in Washington, DC. After graduating with my MSW, I worked as a clinical social worker at the National Children's Center (NCC)'s Educational Program. In this position, I provided therapy to parents and students with special needs.

After taking some time off to raise children, I opened my private practice and concurrently began offering parenting workshops based on the work of Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. Both topics, "How To Talk So Your Kids Will Listen & Listen So Your Kids Will Talk" and "Siblings Without Rivalry" were popular with parents throughout the DC area. My private practice began to evolve after the workshops seemed to help so many people. In addition to my work with individual adults and families, I began to incorporate parent and new mom work into my practice. Right now I specialize in Counseling and Support for Individual Adults, Parents, and for women who may be struggling with the symptoms of Postpartum Depression.

I am a member of the board of the Greater Washington Society of Clinical Social Workers and also serve as co-editor of the society's quarterly newsletter. I am also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and of Postpartum Support International.

It is my belief is that we are all doing the best we can and that sometimes, we can all use a little help. I am an experienced and caring clinician who can help you solve problems, change behaviors, and find more satisfaction in your own life.
